This
unique recreational community consists of heavily wooded, rolling acreage
situated on a serene winding stretch of the South Fork of the Flambeau
River. The South Fork Flambeau is virtually all wilderness and boasts
outstanding water quality with many rapids and renowned fishing. It is one of
the few remaining stretches of wild river in Wisconsin and provides
ample opportunity for canoeing and kayaking enjoyment for all skill levels.
South Fork is located 1.5 miles south of the Village of Fifield, Wisconsin with a private entrance off of State Highway 13 just south of State Highway 70. This area is commonly known as the “crossroads of the northwoods” and the Gateway to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. We are situated approximately 35 miles west of Minoqua and 45 miles south-east of Hayward.
This inspired conservation design works harmoniously with nature. The majority of the property is commonly owned and protected for the private use of residents and guests. South Fork residents will enjoy miles of non-motorized trails throughout the property as well as three private, stocked fishing ponds with docks and two community-owned log pavilions and picnic areas. Private river access from three launch areas is also available to all residents.
Protective covenants require any home or cabin construction to use natural building materials in order to complement this majestic Northwood’s setting and to protect and enhance property values. Featured log home builders offer a wide variety of designs and pricing packages. Our full-time, onsite maintenance personnel carefully groom all commom areas, ponds and trail systems. Maintenance-free living in this pristine getaway is also available by our staff.
Snowmobile and ATV enthusiasts will enjoy access to hundreds of miles of groomed trails directly adjacent to the property. Price County is blessed with more than 300 miles of trails, 147,000 acres of Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, 28,500 acres of State Forest land, 90,000 acres of County Forest land, and 6 county parks. For the ATV enthusiast, the Flambeau Trails system is an interconnecting network of trails consisting of approximately 55 miles. The trails vary in length from less than 1 mile to over 23 miles. Many lakes, streams and the South Fork of the Flambeau River are accessible from the Flambeau Trails.
South Fork creates a tranquil recreational community in a state park-like setting. Prospective owners will be able to choose from many "grand-view" home sites along the river or choose the seclusion of wooded back lots overlooking scenic cedar groves or nestled in amongst the 150 year old white pines. This is your opportunity to preserve your piece of the Northwoods, and create memories that your family will cherish for generations. This is as close as you will ever get to living in a state park!
